This book (free online version!) is part of the Posleen series, and I stands quite well in that series. Ringo manages to weave a complete tale, and even there are some stuff there that stretch my credulity even in SF novel, I liked it.

One very interesting aspect of the book is the treatment for “war crimes” during the book. I don’t want to give any spoilers, since it is a good book, but let us just say that I could more than see how the enemies were able to use stupid and insane laws to hinder the protagonists.

The book ends in a rather surprising article, which I recommend reading.

I don’t agree with everything that they say there, mostly because it is primarily aimed for US readers, but they are saying quite a lot that I do agree with.

Wow - completely wacko article in my opinion. If the EU is a 'Tranzi' project then surely the federation of states in the US is more so?

For me the guy looses any kind of credibility when he says stuff like this:

Did you know that the United States has what amounts to a conditional declaration of war in place should anyone have the gall to grab one of our soldiers to turn over to the ICC or some other Tranzi court? ..............We should look for an opportunity to exercise that law . . . and sometime soon. _Spain might be a good place to start._

The guy is quite a wacko in many respects, take a look at the Last Centurion, which reads like a manifest for right wing, red neck, non too intelligent glory song.

As for Spain, its courts assume that they can persecute anyone, for actions committed anywhere. That raises the level of Huzpa to unbelievable levels.

They even attempted to exercise that assumption recently and got slapped hard.

The United States is nothing like the European Union. The US is a constitutional republic with an elected representational government. The key word there is "constitutional"...

The EU by comparison is neo-feudalism; the new aristocracy personified by an unelected ruling class of bureaucrat.
