I some error about calling begininvoke without a window handle, right as I launched setup and I couldn't seem to get passed it.
  
  
My experiences with Win7 can be summed up as "It's a lot like Vista except that it crashes faster!"

Reason was that closing the "dashboard" application deleted the unpacked installation files from harddrive so the actual installation wizard could not find them anymore.

Do you have UAC enabled? Try running it as administrator...
