I used to do this as part of my registration key system - the software would look for a .key file in the current directory which would contain the registration information and a hash signature with one of two seeds and I would try both - the basic one and the advanced one which would determine which features to unlock.

Developers are always working on a subbranch named to the feature. When a feature (of bug/issue) is completed it's merged back into the development branch. At some point we tag the current branch as 'beta', which is a moving tag. This build is 'shipped' to the QA department for extensive testing. After QA has approved the new beta and updated user documentation the 'live' tag is placed on the current beta. A automated build script than creates a strong-signed assembly and signs it with a AuthentiCode key (required by Dutch banks).

We use this schema for both subversion and TSF.

It's nice to see each feature implemented incrementally and be able to provide feedback to you guys straight away. However, this only works because just about every build runs without problems.

Keep up the great work.
