First minute review: The Last Centurion

I just started to listen to the Last Centurion. I am under the first minute, and I like it already.  It is apparently in blog style, but I don't know, since I am listening to it. I like it because the very first minute the hero starts talking about nitpickers :-)

Almost added it to my Queue until I read this comment:

"A promising start and good reader soon degenerates into thinly veiled right-wing preaching. At three hours, when I finally gave up on this novel, the storyline had not yet progressed beyond criticism of (democrat) government response to events recently past."

I'll pass.

Mike,

I am not from the US, and my notions about internal politics in the US are vague at best.

So far, about two hours into the book, he blasts at a lot of things, but he makes that in a way that makes sense.

In particular, he reminds me of Hienlien's work.

No real plot yet, btw, but highly entertaining.

I'd recommend listening to Altered Carbon (fiction) and Blowback (non-fiction).
