Review: GoGrid vs.Amazon EC2

I tested this in both GoGrid & EC2, and got similar results: The disk I/O is really bad. Just to give you an idea about the difference, here is the same process on my local machine (1TB 7,200 RPM WD HD):
Nasty Hard drive
I think that I trucked down most of my computer issues. I'm looking into the event log, and I can see tons of "This device has a bad cluster" errors. Experience has thought me that this usually mean that the HD's death is imminent, so now I need to get a new HD, and move Windows (which I just installed on the bad HD, naturally) to the new one. Any suggestions of how to do this? I want to do this exactly once, so I'm not very willing to buy Ghost or friends....
